2004 WVW Awards Announced

In what was a very close vote on a few categories, here are the 2004 WVW Awards:

Wrestler(s) of the Year: A very close vote that made for a very unique 3 way tie between 3 wrestlers who have all equally had a great 2004 in the ring: Dirty Harry, Corduroy King, and Necrophiliac.

Best Tag Team: One of the very few uniform tag teams (besides stables) and were champions for a while: Porn Stars.

Match of the Year: This year had man fantastic bouts, but this one was unanimous: GW vs. Dirty Harry from "Love Me Tender".

Best Gimmick: What else can beat an Islamic Stepdad from Hell? The winner is: Hark Miggins.

Best Face: A face throughout all of 2004 and always had bad guys lined up to fight him: Necrophiliac.

Best Heel(s): A tie this year between the brains behind the operation called SCAT and the man who chokeslammed a woman, tried to murder Necro and Mr. Construction, and retired the VWF title: Senator and Eiffel.

Best Storyline: Their 2 previous encounters were 2002 and 2003 Matches of the Year, respectively. But this time, it got personal with Eiffel chokeslamming Mrs. Harry and trying to murder Mr. Construction and Necrophiliac before the Jimboree 2004 event: Dirty Harry vs. Eiffel.

Best Mic Skills: All it took was one anger stricken tirade towards GW at "Love Me Tender" after the actions of the previous event to create a unanimous winner in this category: Dirty Harry.

Best WVW Event: Top to bottom, fantastic stuff... Mooligan vs. Captain Numbnutz, Highwayman vs. Mr. Brownstone in a surprisingly brutal match, Burt "the Goon" vs. Sasquatch, Dirty Cause vs. Porn Stars, Necrophiliac vs. Senator, GW vs. Dirty Harry, and Corduroy King vs. Eiffel/Highwayman... Tough to compete with this stacked event: Ring of the King.

Burt "the Goon", R.I.P., ???-2004

At the event, "Ring of the King", Burt "the Goon" was killed in his match against the Sasquatch. Burt was honored with a tribute video at the beginning of the latest event, "Love Me Tender". While the WVW doesn't condone Burt's actions or his taking credit for several tragedies, assassinations, and utterly sick habits, he will be missed on side splitting humor along and fantastic jokes.

Rest in peace, Burt.

NEW FED NAME, NEW WEBPAGE!
The Senator has won full control over the WXW and VWF now, so since he has a good bit of VWF wrestlers and assets under his control, he has decided to replace the "X" in WXW with a "V" for Valley, so that the combined federations will now be called the Willygoat Valley Wrestling. The 2 feds have put on 7 great and action packed events together.

When is the next WVW event?

The question is asked often... When will WVW put on another exciting show. WVW's last show was on December 28th, 2004, and since then, no event has happened. This is the same fed that produced 16 events in 2 and a half years, and much better, 15 events in 2 years.

Long breaks between events have become common place for so-called "backyard" feds. Many wrestlers reportedly grow out of it, move on to college, start jobs, or even start families. The Valley Wrestling Federation is a key example of this, for its wrestlers became disinterested in the product.

It appears to be the case with WVW right now. Several key talents have moved on, while those remaining are too busy with work or school. While there has been some talk of holding an event sometime in the future, holding regular events seems impossible.

A key factor for WVW is also the ring. Since Blue Man Chew lent WVW the ring, WVW has become reliant on the ring to hold events. If the ring isn't available, then an event doesn't appear to be happening. Blue Man has been really busy with his own wrestling fed these days, among other things, to make something available for WVW. WVW, however, went through 11 events before having a ring.

Will WVW return in the future? Possibly. On a regular basis? Doubtful, for several wrestlers have left and the current ones have become increasingly busy. Face it, 16 events in 2 and a half years is remarkable. 15 events in 2 years is even better.

If an event is held soon, the reported line up is as follows:

-Highwayman defends the WVW Title against Necrophiliac.
-The Senator vs. Corduroy King in some type of special stipulation match.
